Radio - live transmission
Tomorrow (Saturday) I get to relive a bit of my youth, when I spend an hour guest programming on Brisbane community radio station 4ZzZ from 5pm to 6pm, so if you’re in Brisbane, try listening in at 102.1 on the FM dial. I promise I won’t just play an hour of Nick Cave.

4ZZZ was Brisbane’s first FM radio station and one of Australia’s
first community radio stations. This year marks its 30th anniversary. It still provides the only outlet giving airplay to many local bands playing original music in Brisbane. They are also running their annual Radiothon at the moment, which is the key fundraising event for the station, so if you want to donate or even subscribe, now is the time to do it (cos you can win prizes and stuff).

I wrote
here about my involvement in 4ZZZ in the 1980s. Things have changed a lot since then, but it’s still an interesting station that plays music that no one else does, so give it a listen now and then if you get the chance. The music played varies enormously in style, so it might be dull one time you listen, but fascinating the next.
